Subject: Dyno Testing - Phase1 IP: Logged Message: Well...got back from the Dyno shop yesterday and just my luck...the Nitrous solenoid stuck on me on the way to the shop...so, no nitrous dyno runs. Either way, we got 209RWHP and 277RWTQ out of the little V6. (That equates to almost 250HP and 330TQ at the crank.) Not too shabby from the factory 175HP/225TQ. Just as a comparison...I ran a 100HP shot several months ago and she dyno'd at 231RWHP and 381RWTQ! (Can't say that a blower beats nitrous on that one...but at least it's always there...the blower.) With the nitrous, it would have been close to 240RWHP....damn...I already have the replacement seals on the way so next time we're gonna test her again. The MAP/IAT Adjuster box that I built also boosted performance by 4HP and 6TQ at the rear wheels..we tested it with the box turned ON and OFF. Just a little bit more fine-tuning on the box and that'll be ready for production as well. Bernd D. Ratsch 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT Supercharged w/Nitrous |

Bernd GenIII 1/06/2001 11:42:09 | RE: Dyno Testing - Phase1 IP: Logged Message: Bob: The bottom end is pretty tough from the factory so I haven't done anything to it...with the exception of tying the crank and cam gears together with a Mopar Chain. I talked with "Scott" at Heart of Texas Dodge on your problem and he thinks that it's a transmission problem rather than just a "quick-fix" TSB. The rear-end problem has to do with the factory backlash adjustment. (Causes "humming noises" from what he told me.) Chris: Either one is just fine. Amsoil doesn't do anything better than what Mobil-1 (or even Redline) can. As long as you keep your oil change intervals consistent (and don't believe that 25-50K mile oil change crap from Amsoil). Mobile-1 is also readily available at most parts stores. Bernd D. Ratsch 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT Supercharged w/Nitrous |

On the trans not shifting into OD even after a few miles may require the dealer to check it out. As for the rear-end noise, see previous post. Bernd D. chris GenIII 1/06/2001 12:05:28 | RE: Dyno Testing - Phase1 IP: Logged Message: Yea Bernd, there's no way I'd let any oil go over 3,000...ok maybe 3,500 if im lazy or its too cold..its such a basic thing to do, like changing an air filter or checking tire pressure..I agree with what you said on an earlier post about ALL oil breaking down..it's just not worth the chance of losing lubrication to my beloved Dak....hehe Chris DeCrease 97 Dak 3.9 Sport 5-sp 3"Body Lift 33"BFG TA ko's |
