how do i get a decal off of a truck??
something that won't eat the paint?
any ideas??
it's for my friends truck?

if its not to old just heat it with a heat gun or a hair dryer and peel it off gently but if its old the paint is probably darker than the rest because of sun fade

If any sticky residue remains use a soft cloth and some WD-40. Just keep soaking it and rubbing gently. It should not scratch the paint at all. Just have a little patience, it always works.

Scott-use a hair dryer and get some(3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner) part no.08984 ...you get it a Auto Paint store,you can use this stuff for other things at home or work.Good Luck

Scott looking at your profile...If you take the decals off your 1988 truck, you will surely see the shadow in the paint from the old decals as copperdak said.
